ミヒャエル・クヴァンテ氏はドイツ・ミュンスター大学正教授であり、主な研究領域は、ヘーゲル哲学、人格の哲学、行為論、生命倫理学等です。今回の講演では、人格を主題に、「人格の同一性は、本質的に承認関係によって社会的に構成されている」という主張を展開される予定です。

リーザ・シュミット氏は現在クヴァンテ教授のもとで博士論文を執筆中の若き研究者です。今回の講演では、バーナード・ウィリアムズにおけるintegrity（誠実、高潔）の問題を論じていただきます。

［講演要旨］
Michael Quante (University of Münster) "Personal Identity and Recognition"
  In this lecture four meanings of personal identity are distinguished so that the classical philosophical problem of THE personal identity is dissolved and reorganized as a set of four interrelated questions.
  Based on this distinction it is argued that personhood and personality of human beings are constituted by and realised in relations of mutual recognition.
  These relations of recognition can be analysed as ascriptions of actions and social roles.
  The question of personhood aims at identifying the list of personmaking-characteristics, while the question of personality deals with the narrative unity of a human person's biography.
  Both: personhood and personality have to be understood as essential parts of our human life-form which is realised in a complex network of ascriptions and social institutions.
  This recognition-based conception is defended against some major objections on the one hand; and it is shown that this recognition-based conception of human persons' practical identity is relevant for various topics in practical philosophy.

ミヒャエル・クヴァンテ（ミュンスター大学）「人格の同一性と承認」
本講演で私は、人格の同一性の4つの意味を区別し、そうしていわゆる「人格の同一性」という古典的な哲学的問題を解消して、4つの関連する問いの組み合わせとして再構成します。
この区別に基づいて、人間の人格性とパーソナリティは相互承認の関係によって形成され、またその関係の中で実現されると私は主張します。
これらの承認関係は、行為や社会的役割の原因となるものとして分析することが可能です。
人格性の問いは、人格特性のリストを特定することを目的としていますが、パーソナリティの問いは人間の経歴のナラティブな統一を扱っています。
人格性とパーソナリティの両方とも、諸々の原因と社会制度の複雑なネットワークの中で実現される私たち人間の生活様式の本質的な部分として理解されなければなりません。
この承認に基づく概念を、私は一方ではいくつかの主要な異議に対して擁護します。この承認に基づく人間の実践的アイデンティティの概念が、実践哲学における様々なトピックに関連していることを、私は示したいと思います。

Lisa Schmidt (University of Münster) "Bernard Williams on integrity"
  What does it mean to lead a life you recognize as your own? And why is integrity important to do so? With the work of the English philosopher Bernard Williams (1929–2003) as a point of orientation, an attempt to answer these questions will be dared. By understanding integrity as an “admirable human property” and offering a close connection between a person’s wishes, projects, and beliefs on the one hand - and their actions on the other - Williams lays out two different kinds of threats which an inadequate moral theory can pose for any person. The solution for these kinds of problems lies in an integrating person-theory. One which does include a concept of integrity.

リーザ・シュミット（ミュンスター大学） 「バーナード・ウィリアムズの誠実論」
あなたが、あなた自身のものであるとみなす人生をおくるとはどういうことでしょうか？そしてそのために誠実さはなぜ重要なのでしょうか？本講演は英国の哲学者バーナード・ウィリアムズ（1929–2003）の仕事を起点として、これらの問いに答えようと試みます。誠実さを「称賛すべき人間の特質」と理解し、一方では人の望み、計画、信念の間の密接な関係を、他方では人の行為の間の密接な関係を示すことで、ウィリアムズは不適切な道徳理論がだれにでも与えることがある、2つの異なった種類の脅威について展開しています。この種の問題の解決は、統合的な人格論のうちにあります。それは誠実さの概念を含んでいるものなのです。
