Prospective students

Our ideal students are those who are able to apply their knowledge to identify and solve problems in a clear, concise, and logical manner. We are particularly keen on students who are interested in:

  1. philosophy, logic, and fine arts, and who enjoy reading about these subjects
  2. the mind, actions, and social and cultural entities; relationships between the environment and communities at various levels; and collecting information on these subjects to substantiate their arguments
  3. Japanese and other histories and cultures, and wish to make new discoveries and apply acquired knowledge to contemporary issues
  4. the structure and history of languages, differences and universal principles hidden behind human languages, how language is used in different regions and social classes, and how language relates to culture
  5. questioning and making connections between the languages and cultures of different parts of the world
